I enjoyed MAFIA 2, so with that in mind;

1. Longer story

2. More interaction

3. Melee weapons / Pick up objects

4. Ability to enter buildings / locations (This has been talked about for years, I wanna see it come to fruition.)

5. Loonger story

Also I expect it to be a completely new story and M2 being over with.

If there were to be a Mafia III game I’d would like:

1. it’s story to be about Vito getting revenge.

2. Vito being a Capo.

3. the setting to be in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s.

4. Vito being sent away on exile for some years and then coming back to a very different situation. (Similar to Vito’s time in prison)

5. the city to be Empire Bay but with accessible countryside around.

(6. a Free-ride mode)

Better freeride and a true day-and-night cycle, that’s what I want for Mafia III.

How about something like free ride extreme, and some modernized old cars as unlockables!

I’ve changed my mind! It should definitely be located mainly in Lost Heaven. It would have all the standards featured in MafiaII but with the same layout as in MafiaI albeit a bit modernized. This would connect to Mafia I users.

I only want 3 things for Mafia 3.

1. Bring back Daniel Vávra to write the story.

3. 2K Games can stay the f*ck out of the Mafia series

*Mafia 1 was great because substance over cost was king….when the dollar became the most important thing, story went away, characters became flat, game play (driving fricking everywhere) became flat, features were removed and turned into $ DLC $

Believe it oir not….the ending was one thing I liked about the story, as well as the first 5 chapters

So let’s unleash my 2 cents. All this is not in any particular order, and the numbering

from 1 to 5 it’s not a rating, it’s just to keep adherence to the topic’s title, and since

my toughts are somewhat delirious, below each voice there is a little explanation.

1 Updated game engine

I wonder no one has said a word on graphics, maybe is a quite obvious subject, but i want

M3 to be capable of striking impact, with astonishing graphics and physics performance.

Tessellation, advanced anti-aliasing and a shading with real ambient occlusion;

Interacting particle system: For instance, rain drops will not simply fall, they gather

over surfaces creating a wet, dripping layer influenced by footsteps and wheels with

splashes and so on. I also want a configurable interface where you can choose on-screen

items and how they appear: map, speedo, ammo counter and other objects are all switchable

on/off, and also capable of being semi transparent over game screen. All this via user-set

preferences in the interface menu.

2 The REALLY free ride

Granted there should be no cutted content, player is allowed to reach, enter, climb, every

square feet of the map.

I also want to be able to escape/chase both enemy/police in every way all around the

environment: fire stairs, roofs, buildings, fences, the lot, with the eventual need of

tools to break-in, or safecracking.

Obviously while being able to fire from every point you will reach, no matter the place.

And no checkpoints, either: you saved in the middle of a fight? you respawn exactly there

after loading, in the same circumstance/place/task you previously left. The load/save menu

has no longer slots: it simply shows the file list with an icon, where the icon’s image is

a screenshot of the action saved, so you visually recognize which and what each file is,

even after many days.

3 Responsible marketing

Sorry to fuel the same fire again, but as a matter of facts, 2K’s way of business has upset

lots of people.

I also want to spend a word on Vavra. I’m with him, and hope he will be back, but i’m also

ready to a non-Vavra M3. In short, MAKE IT GOOD, and i will buy it.

4 Don’t trash M2 Inheritance

To be honest, M2 hasn’t reached the same success of the first one. But i don’t want to

use this argument to fall in the superficial, common “M2 is evil” rant. Actually, i find

some of its ideas to be good, like the music with the in-game radio, the playboys and

the wanted posters collectibles, and the really cool painted artworks.

I also like the score system in jimmy’s dlc and want it expanded with perks and specific

achievements, let’s say unlockable side-quests for already done missions, making replay

more attractive.

5 The “Lost Heaven reloaded” hidden feature

When M3 ends, the “Lost Heaven reloaded” is unlocked. It’s the first mafia ported inside

the new game engine, with the original characters, places, map and storyline, but it’s now

made with the current M3 technology and sports updated graphics, physics, motion-capture

quality animations and facial expressions. Obviously many people already know it, and the

story is spoiled for them, but despite this, i believe most enthusiasts will still enjoy

it, and perhaps, some of them will want M3 just for this, which is indeed the ultimate M1.

Uh, well, let’s face it… i write this post without any knownledge about feasibility or cost.

So all this stuff may be just a dream i (we) never see.

But i believe we need to dream to push reality ongoing: back in the days someone wanted to

play his mp3s everywhere, but such a device seemed hard if not impossible, until he created
