I hope not, I have lots of stuff to back up and i don’t want to do that lol
Well there can be that your pc has been infected and the virus is trying to render your hard drive useless another thing can be that some of your hard drive sectors failed at some point and if that’s the case you will need to new hard drive as sectors can’t be repaired. Thing I suggest now is backup really important files and download HDtune and do a error scan then show me the results. Lastly you can try doing System Restore to roll back to old restore point and see if the problem wasn’t there at that time. In the future you could buy exact size hardrive and clone it so if something goes wrong with old hardrive you can just use the clone one for myself I have 3 1tb hard drives 2 are for storage and 1 is for cloning so if my hardrive was to fail I would not have to worry of loosing 800GB of data
” data-emoticon=”” srcset=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x” width=”20″ height=”20″> and before anyone tells you to defrag you hard drive DO NOT DO IT if sectors failed defraging will render it useless.
Ok thanks for the tips, I have downloaded hdtune and I did a quick scan, all green. I’m currently doing a long scan. Thanks for the link. After, i will do virus scans
