(1) Using Steam to play the game makes it impossible to use mods because Steam won’t allow mods.

(2) If I play the game without Steam I should be able to use the mods.

(3) It is possible to install the game without Steam.

I removed the game and started to reinstall it’ date=’ but the “Install” window says that “Setup will install files for Steam to the following folder.”[/quote’] 

It’s Steam setup, not Mafia 2 setup – so no wonder it wants to install Steam files.
