I'm trying to run Mafia: The city of lost heaven on windows 8.1, and I get this error: 


 




"Init error 4214 Unsuported.." I opened error log, and it says: "ERROR! DirectX version is lower 8.1 !"


 




 


 




So, of course i'm running dx 11, can't install lower versions.


 




 


 




Searched internet, tried few things: http://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/201332423-Init-Error-4215-or-4205-when-I-try-to-start-Mafia


 


 




Changing game settings doesn't help, and of course i think since windows vista, there's no Hardware Sound Acceleration settings.


 




Of course i tried to run as admin, compatibility modes. No luck.


 




 


 




So i'm really stuck with this problem.
