Thanks for keeping us afloat, Joshua!
ICYMI:
Slim progress on this at the moment, but I’m almost done with the set pieces for ‘South Side’ – a pretty rough part of town.
This area will likely see some changes. In Vegas, I’ve decided on a subtle ‘post-processing’ look, to give footage an old-style ‘Vaseline blur’ effect for a slightly dreamlike quality.

Experimenting with Djbozkosz’ method of fake SSR (Screen Space Reflections), as found in his mod here. Also shown is my office as I have no WiFi tonight, so this was filmed and sent from my phone.

Modified detective car and moving light test.

Details added, first set almost done (a few more details and rebaked lightmaps still outstanding) – then time for the cameras, scripts and anims.

Tonight’s nonsense.

First draft of the lighting through the shutters.

I have a saying I’m quite fond of: “Creativity thrives within constraints”, and you exemplify the principle beautifully. These screens bring me back to the Central Island/Little Italy conversation.
I’ve always adored your cheeseburger approach, right from my teens. The atmosphere is wonderful, and I can’t wait for dive into the world of Capoletti once again!
Seriously though, MGV is the toilet of the Mafia community
I remember you being a bit abrasive some years ago, but I thought I’d give it a chance on a new site. If you’d rather be childish and passive-aggressive, I’m okay with that. With an instant messenger, I was thinking more that quicker response time is helpful when going back-and-forth to troubleshoot. On top of that, Quarkblitz is the only online alias I know that ASM currently has, and I’ve been speaking with him in some form or another for more than 15 years. If you’d rather I didn’t help (I’m sure someone else can), physician heal thyself
Do you have any chat/messenger apps? It would probably easier to do this via that kind of thing.
xxo
Have you tried the usual admin/compatibility options? I don’t even have space for another stupid Win11 update on my laptop (I’ve stayed with Win10 on my PC), but I’ll try DCED on there and see if I can replicate the problem.
EDIT: Which ‘version’ of DCED do you use – the one that installs or the standalone EXE?
That’s unfortunate. Do you use 3DS Max or Blender? There (very recently) have been tools developed/posted that either do/will have some form of occluder functionality (though they’re both a bit limited with exporting and also slightly buggy, at least currently).
