Now Don Grannoli is set to get back to business and make the peace with Rogotti and one thing that the old Don has learned is that dead men don't make problems in business.So he has called a meeting with the Sultant City Commission. And he has arranged for you to finally put an end to this conflict.The ScreensFranco Phillipinno's Save HouseAs anybody who has read The Godfather knows that a war usually follows a "hit to the matresses". A run down and dirty apartment where key members hide when in fear of death or when the heat is on. And Franco Phillipinno is no different. Ok. So as you may or may not be aware. Work on The Commission Mod part 2 has been put on hold for the past month or so while I indulge in this. (I know its months away but considering I can only mod every so often I wanted to give myself plenty of time so that this is Ready for August 28th 2012).


 




Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you what will be, not a mod. But a video instead. Celebrating Mafia's 10th birthday.


 




I've been working on this on the quiet. But now that I've gotten quite a bit of progress under way (its almost done. I've just got to script it and record it). I figured I can share some bits and bobs with you all without ruining the video that you'll all see on August 28th.


 




This post has been made just to set the ball rolling and to make you all aware. As I have work in about half an hour or so I will post a couple of screens for you all when I get home.

Ok. So I was working on some Commission Mod part 2 dialogue today in the Mafia text editor when I found the following.

Could it of been possible that we were able to originally have done side missions for Big Biff and Little Tony like we could for Lucas Bertone? I think so. Although, theres nothing in any of those actual missions (06, 08 and 09) that indicate this. But if what I just said is the case then it seems like Mafia II isn't the first time that Illusion cut work from their game. Of course, the difference between Mafia and Mafia II is that what they left in in Mafia II is actually quality work  " data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">


 




So yeah, what do you guys make of this? Would you of liked to of seen Tony/Biff side missions? Maybe if a fellow modder likes the idea they could make some up for those missions. I would do it myself but Commission mod has my full attention at this time and will continue to do so until it is finished.

On this day, ten years ago. A game came out. A game which recieved very little media attention both leading up to its release and afterwards too. Yet this extreamly detailed and lovingly crafted work of art that was pushed out by a small team of geniuses from the Czech Republic managed to captivate a small community of gamers from around the globe to unite and keep its heart beating long after many have given up on it. A community who were not prepared to "modernise" with its successor that was so poorly released back in 2010. Instead this small community has stayed loyal to this game even after it was expected to die after the release of its sequel.


 




I, RubyDragon949, am one of those loyal people. But, today is not the day to bash the sequel. I've done enough of that throughout the past two years. Instead, today is a great day of rememberance for a game that has kept us entertained throughout the years and hopefully will continue to do so for a few more to come  " data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">

Well guys and gals. It's been a wonderful 8/9 years of playing Mafia, and an even greater 5 years or so of being a member of the modders community.


 




But I am afraid now, I think it's time for me to say goodbye " data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/sad@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">


 




It's not that I want to go. Its that I feel I have to. Our community is not as big as it used to be. I spent 3 years working on The Commission Mod, and did a couple of other mods before that (LH Mafia Wars and Days in the life mods).


 




All these things have taken time to produce. And with the community we had then, it was worth the time invested. Now, however. With such few people I feel I am investing too much for too little. Modding, after all, prevents me from getting on with the other things I wish to do with my spare time.


 




On top of that (Like Matteo said when he announced retirement) there is not a lot left to do with Mafia. A vast majority of its limits have been tapped. Nothing left we can do (which is a shame, as "djbozkosz" looks set to revolutionise the scene with his new LS3D editor. But it seems to have come just a little too late).


 




After the release of Mafia II, I knew we would be left as a smaller community. But I never expected this. That is why I made The Commission Mod " data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20"> It was my "Ultimate tribute to Mafia". Which is what gave me the dedication to see it out through its 3 year development. Many have called it the best mod for Mafia out there, not for its technical capacity. But for the storyline and atmosphere it offers players. Personally, I am not a humble man so I wouldn't agree with that. Balderdash I say. There are far better mods than my own " data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">


 




I shall still pop into this site every now and again just to see how things are going. But in terms of the modding. I am done. And The Commission Mod, was my curtain call. Maybe one day I shall have a "Rocky Balboa" moment and decide to do one last mod. But we shall see what's going on here if and when that moment decides to come.

Ken and Carl, a team of two professional career criminals, have been hired by a mobster known only as Benny to take on a low risk job which is high in pay.


 




 


 




The job sounds simple enough, break into the Sec Co Security Firm Building and steal a vast majority of the cash that is held there before driving out to the countryside safe house for a quick split of the take. Boss and employees will then go their separate ways.


 




 


 




Sounds easy enough, right?

Players will be able to take on the role of both criminals at various points in the mod in order to complete certain tasks, before having the freedom to choose between either one they like in the mod's climax mission.


 




 


 




Players are also given access to a sawn off shotgun that has been modified to be fired from one hand, allowing for sawn off drive bys.
